August Birchbox Limited Edition "Everyday Girl" Box

image

Birchbox most have realized their error and sent out my Everyday Girl box (which is what my original order was suppose to be).
This box was curated by the owners of the Everyday Girl website which caters to empowering and inspiring the real everyday woman. Let's take a look at the contents chosen.....

The Card

image

Of course there's a little card inside that gives a brief description of each item along with the cost of the full sized product.

They're Real! Push-Liner (Full Size: $24)

image

This is the same tiny sample that was in the first box sent earlier this month. The reviews about this liner has been mostly positive and I can't wait to try it. However, I just have way too many eyeliners to use at the moment and I don't want to have a lot of opened eyeliners sitting around. I do plan on giving this a try soon. After all, I've been dying to create the perfect cat eye!

Not Soap, Radio for bath or shower (Full Size: $16)

image

This second item was also featured in my "error" box. I do love the scent of lemons and although it's a bit on the runny side, I do plan on trying this out soon.

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub (Full Size: $14.99)

image

Nice! I was so excited to receive this product! After participating in Acure's Party With A Purpose offer (Where they sent FIVE full sized products for you to try and pass along info to your friends and family), I have fallen IN LOVE with their products! This facial scrub wasn't part of the package I received but now that I have it, I will definitely try it in the morning! If this product is anything like their facial serum and day cream that I already have, I'm already sold on this!

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect (Full Size: $32)

image

One whiff of this and I instantly put this on my "Hell No" list. The scent is pretty strong and it's off putting. Besides, I'm partial to my Cantu Leave-In Conditioning Creme and I am very picky about what goes in my hair. I'll probably trade this.

Harvey Prince Hello Spritz (Full Size: $26)

image

Everyone seems to be in love with this spritz. It does have a light summery "I want to walk in the park and sing with the birds and chipmunks without a care in the world" scent to it. Too bad summer is almost over! Would I purchase the full size product? Only if it was on sale for 75% off. Until then, I'll rock this sample during the "dog days of summer" (Never knew what that meant but it sounded good to add).

Well that pretty much sums of the  Everyday Girl Limited Edition Box. Was it worth the $10? Yes, it was! Not as great as the "error box" box sent, but still a good box!  Will I continue to stay subscribed to Birchbox remains to be seen. Eh, maybe for the month of September since it is my bday month, but who knows!

Birchbox August 2014

My first review is for the August edition of Birchbox. I am not a regular subscriber but I hear that it is one of the longest running beauty subscriptions out there. I subbed before a couple of months ago but wasn't impressed with the sample sizes or selection. However, out of all of my beauty subs, I realized that Birchbox was the only box where I utilized everything, so I figured I'd give them another shot!

Birchbox: $10 monthly. Ships in the US and limited areas internationally.

The box that was sent was suppose to be the Everyday Girl special edition box. At first, I thought it was until I read what the Everyday Girl box was suppose to include. The box I received was much different but comparing this box to what I was suppose to receive, I think I lucked out!

There's a card that comes inside of the box that gives a brief description of the contents.
They're Real Push-Up Liner

image

First item is They're Real Push-Up liner by Benefits Cosmetics (Full size: $24). Everyone seems to be in love with this eyeliner and it was the main reason why I resubbed to Birchbox. However, the sample is really small. I have yet to try it but I will as soon as possible!

Laura Mercier Tone Perfecting Crème

image

The second item is a Laura Mercier Tone Perfecting creme (Full size: $98).
It comes in a beautiful and good quality container. I don't know much about LM products but they tend to receive great reviews. There's a generous amount of product sample and it has a lovely scent. I hope this can help with my dark circles under my eyes. They also threw in Laura Mercier tinted Moisturizer sample for good measure and that I have no use for.

Not Soap, Radio

image

The third item on the list is Not Soap, Radio Joy Inducing Body Wash (Full size $16). This body wash smells devine! I love anything with a lemon scent! It's a little on the runny side as far as liquid consistency but I will most definitely use this for the scent alone.

image

Whish Shave Crave

image

Fourth item is Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream Acai Grapefruit (Full size $20). I had to take a few sniffs of this cream to see if the scent would appeal to me. The smell is very light and the cream is thick but I'm not too fond of grapefruits or Acai berries. I may toss this one over to my daughter since she loves anything shaving related.

Hello Breathspray

image

The fifth and last item is Hello BreathSpray in Pink Grapefruit Mint ( Full size: $11.50). This was actually a Lifestyle Extra bonus. Unfortunately, it is grapefruit and I do not like anything grapefruit flavored or scented. As far as freshening my breath, I'd rather chew gum.

That pretty much sums up the August Birchbox and I am definitely impressed compared to the very first box I received. It is worth the $10 per month that they charge and they have a pretty generous points system that allows you to buy a lot of full sized products from their site. Will I keep the sub? Maybe not since I am more into makeup but since I can cancel anytime, I may give it another month. Hell, it's only $10 bucks!

Stay tuned......
